How much potassium is in IXL?
One bottle of IXL has 400mg of potassium. (About a banana’s worth!) The potassium and the other electrolytes are bound to amino acids that allow you get the potassium you need, while working in conjunction with the sodium already present in your body.
Don't you need sodium? Why doesn't IXL have added sodium?
Your body definitely needs sodium—it's a critical electrolyte for performance. Sodium actually works in harmony with potassium for optimum fluid balance. This balance is not only crucial for performance but also for cardiovascular health. Unfortunately, most Americans today consume about twice the amount of sodium they need in their normal diets, while only consuming about ½ the amount of potassium required. Instead of adding to the problem, IXL utilizes the abundance of sodium already in the body while providing 400mg of potassium (along with other vitamins, minerals, and amino acids) to help address this critical imbalance.
